On Tuesday, Paris Saint-Germain suffered a harsh blow at the Parc des Princes, falling 1-0 to Borussia Dortmund (2-0 on aggregate) and ending their UEFA Champions League run in the semifinals.

Kylian Mbappé didn’t score or assist in the two legs, as the capital club’s attack went cold. With PSG wasting an opportunity to go to Wembley Stadium for the final on the line, the Frenchman is facing criticism.

RMC Sport pundit Daniel Riolo warned Real Madrid, who are likely to be the 25-year-old’s next destination, about the player’s current form on and off the pitch.

“Mbappé is not free from criticism this season regarding his lifestyle; he’s far from impeccable,” Riolo said on After Foot RMC (h/t Le10Sport). His physical form is lacking. Since the Newcastle match, I’ve been saying that he’s been going out too much. We hear too many things about what’s going on in Paris. He started to lose focus.

“When it came to the announcement, what Luis Enrique and the club did was an absolute disaster. They totally botched it. He wasn’t in a good state to begin with, and they completely ruined it for him. Everyone got it wrong, and PSG paid the price when they needed him to be at his best. He was exhausted, and it felt like watching an average player.”

Mbappé will reportedly leave as a free agent to join the Spanish giants, so PSG will need to replace his production. However, the Parisians might also need to find an attacking player who can provide leadership, as former French footballer Johan Micoud stated that the lack of Neymar Jr. showed in this tie against Dortmund.
