The Jamaican Women’s National Team has released a statement confirming they will opt out of the upcoming international break.

The decision was shared via social media, as the 2023 World Cup squad will not participate in the Women’s Gold Cup qualifiers.

According to the statement, the Reggae Girlz want to end “constant mistreatment” from the Jamaican Football Federation.

The squad has allegedly not received compensation for participating in the 2022 Women’s World Cup and found out about their new head coach via social media.

Jamaica were set to battle Panama and Guatemala for a spot at the 2024 Women’s Gold Cup later this month.
