Itâs summer and that can only mean one thing: loads and loads of new kits.
But while many clubs are sticking to the tried and tested templates, some are really taking a walk on the wild side.
Here are the 10 most unusual or unique kits released so far this summer.
A collaboration with designer Colm Dillane from Kid Super, the Tykesâ new kit as an homage to the one they wore in the 1989/90 kit, and itâs certainly a throwback to that era.
Sticking with the 1980s theme, Southampton will be hoping to take the Championship by storm next season with a remake of their 1987-89 kit. All thatâs missing is Draper Tools as the sponsor.
Down in League Two, Carlisle are also turning the clock back this summer with a tribute to their 1993-95 kit. Some have said it looks a bit like a bus seat but we like it.
Hereâs where this list really starts to get interesting. Belgian outfit Sint-Truidenâs new home jersey not only celebrates their 100th anniversary, but also features a samurai mask on the inside, which the designer claims is a nod to the âwarrior spiritâ of the club. Finally Getafeâs infamous Burger King kit has a spiritual successor.
Thereâs nothing much to say about Stuttgartâs new home jersey except itâs a classy number that looks perfect without a sponsorâs logo plastered across it. Letâs hope it stays that way.
We know what youâre thinking. Thatâs just a regular looking Salzburg kit, right? Wrong. In fact, the club say every single one of those jerseys will feature a unique version of that grey intermeshing pattern on the front, meaning no two are the same. Pretty cool.
This jersey from Spanish Segunda DivisiĂłn side Leganes may not be to everyoneâs taste, but the cause behind it is well worth supporting. The club are trying to raise awareness of rare diseases and their third kit incorporates the colour scheme used by the campaign, with 10% of all profits donated to the Spanish Federation of Rare Diseases (FEDER).
The Aurora Borealis is often visible in the night sky from north east Scotland, and next season youâll also be able to see the Northern Lights on Aberdeenâs away kit. Lovely stuff.
Legendary musical genius David Bowie grew up in Bromley and what better excuse could there be for Bromley FC to release a striking away kit in tribute to Ziggy Stardust himself? Theyâll be the coolest club in the National League next season.
Weâre cheating a little with this last one because this kit hasnât yet been released (and might be a total fake) but if the rumours are true, Manchester United could be sporting one of their most unusual kits ever next season. The colours are apparently âGreen Night/Core White/Active Maroonâ. Make of that what you will.
